If you’re considering setting up a UK limited company, you may be wondering how you go about getting this done. Do you need to visit a particular place? Are there any signatures required? Do you need to mail anything?

The answer to all three of these questions is no. You do not need to visit anywhere. There are no signatures required. And nothing needs to be posted.

You can set up a company entirely online from a desktop or even from a mobile phone.

Setting up your company with Companies House or a company formation agent

The company formation process can now be completed in a matter of hours, from choosing your company name to your application being accepted by Companies House (exact timings depend on Companies House’s workload). This speed is facilitated by being able to complete the process online.

You can form your company directly with Companies House; alternatively, you can use a company formation agent, such as ourselves, to assist you.

A company formation agent can offer a number of services that Companies House can’t:

  • Protect your residential address from the public register – with a registered office and service address service
  • Avoid mistakes – with a company formation expert looking over your application before it is submitted
  • Get your banking sorted – with an introduction to a choice of business banking providers
  • Help when you need it – with a member of the team only ever a few clicks away

Setting up a company offline

Companies can still be formed offline via the IN01 – Application to register a company form.

However, the paper method greatly increases the time it takes to form the company, as well the likelihood of mistakes being made.

Set up your company today

Are you ready to form a limited company? Our online service can get you up and running in just a few hours.
